Thirteen of us hit the road today. We had a tied vote between Waiomu and Coromandel town, and decided we would ride to the former and then some of us might go on to Coromandel.
Charlie led, and all went smoothly until we stopped for a break at Waitakaruru. One of the bikes had developed a mechanical problem. The combined expertise of all present was sufficient to get it going again, and the rider headed off, successfully making it home. This all took a while. By the time we got to Waiomu it was well past noon, and we all decided to stay and have lunch at the excellent cafe.
After lunch, we retraced our steps and regrouped at Kaiaua. Most of us then came home via Kawakawa bay, and some via Mangatawhiri. Thanks to Sig Falkenhaug for being TEC.
A Ulyssian kindly loaned her Kawasaki 650 to a Canadian friend that's visiting at the moment, I don't think he has seen so many twisty roads.
