Waiomu 8 Oct

On an overcast but nice day 15 bikes led by Lou Waller left the Papakura Service center headed for the Waiomu cafe up the Thames coast for lunch.

We went south on the motorway and off at the Bombay exit over the Bombay hill and down Pinnacle Hill Road to the main road then of at the Mangatawhiri exit. One rider left the group at Koheroa road and went his own way. The rest of us carried on and went down Monument road, down Findlay road through Miranda for a regroup and potty stop at Waitakaruru.

Then we headed of to Thames. We rode through the main street of Thames to show of the bikes to the locals (I presume that's why - either that or Lou got lost). Then on to the cafe for a nice lunch. After lunch we went back to Kaiaua where the group split, some went up the coast road and some took the inland rout through Mangatangi. For another regroup at Mangatawhiri where some like myself headed for home and others took the longway round down Koheroa road. It was an excellent ride thanks to Lou Waller RIC and TEC Charlie Tee.
