Sorry Guys & Girls changed my mind again, we ended up in Matamata at the Hot Rod & Swap meet. 6 bikes turned up at the Z Bombay, after a quick briefing we jumped on our bikes and left. We went down the Southern motorway until we exited at Ohinewai bound for Tahuna. What a great stretch of road, I am sure it was engineered by a motorcyclist. We encountered a couple of unforeseen circumstances, the first being a cycle race and the second, a truck and trailer unit which didn't quite make a left hand corner, ending up blocking the lane and spilling diesel, which was running down the road. Thankfully a guy attending the scene was aware enough to give us plenty of warning, we all navigated successfully around the diesel. We went straight into Matamata for an early lunch at Ronnies.
Mark Andrew Benton was already there, having made his way across from Papamoa Beach. After a quick lunch, we headed across to Bedford Park for the swap meet. After a pleasant hour wandering around the cars, we met back at the bikes to ride home. We came back through along the old Te Aroha Road, into Te Aroha for a fuel stop. Then through some of the back roads around Ngatea, past the blueberry farm and then onto Miranda Back Road. Up through Mangatangi, onto Lyons road then a gentle cruise into the Autobahn at Bombay for an after match coffee. It was a great day spent riding with like minded club mates. Thanks guys. Door to door for me 310Kms. See you next time.
