Fourteen people on twelve bikes going to the BBQ today. Sig Falkenhaug led us over back roads south of Waiuku and then up the Awhitu peninsula, arriving at Matakawau Point just in time for lunch. Matakawau village was very busy as we passed through and I feared the point might be busy too, but there were no other large groups there. Several Ulyssians had arrived before us on spyders and in cars and set up our lunch for us.
The weather was cloudy, which was pleasant. When the sun did come out, I noticed most people stuck to the shade.
